Over
the years, NOAC representatives
met with insurer's officials and
helped facilitate a 35%
reimbursement increase for
D.C.’s. Attorney fees for this
endeavor were paid with NOAC
membership fund. |

Major funding for the Trigon
and HCFA lawsuits. |

NOAC RESPONSE:
In
March 2002, NOAC board members
traveled to Washington, D.C. to
participate in the National
Chiropractic Legislative
Reception on Capital Hill.
Legislators were educated on
this issue and donations were
made by NOAC to support these
two legal actions. |

ISSUE 3: |
Public Relations: Enhancing the
public and private awareness of
chiropractic. |

NOAC
RESPONSE: In the
spring of 2002, the NOAC
initiated radio ads on WTAM Am
1100 and WDOK FM 102.1. These
radio ads promoted chiropractic,
increased consumer awareness and
provided the listener with a
1-800 referral number
referencing the names and phone
numbers of NOAC members
listeners could call. The NOAC
also has a web site that is up
and running. Check out

chiropractic and the NOAC. The
general public can obtain
information regarding
Chiropractic and can find a D.C.
in their area. A list of paid
members can be found by county

Attacks On Chiropractic:
Challenges to the authors and
publishers of unsubstantiated
healthcare articles, which are
unfavorable to chiropractic,
recently printed for general
distribution. |

RESPONSE: The NOAC
responded to the medical and
physical therapy boards with
complaints that yielded
favorable responses. |

ISSUE 5: |
Chiropractic Acupuncture Bill |

NOAC RESPONSE:
NOAC was instrumental in the
initiation and passing of this
bill in the state legislature. |
